Assure Consulting is a preferred contractor to the NSW Food Authority, the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, ACT Health and over 30 local government authorities in relation to food safety regulation expertise and advice. Assure also provides food safety advice to retail food businesses allowing for a detailed understanding of the industry and its challenges. Assure Consulting is a strong advocate in consistency and best practice and encourage all clients to participate in all State government programs such as NSW’s FPAR (Food premises assessment report) and Score on Doors initiatives. As technology evolves, Assure Consulting is on the frontline providing expert advice to a range of IT service providers.

Assure Consulting developed and implemented NSW Local Government’s first proactive environmental inspection program titled the Clean Industry Program for Gosford City Council. The program has significantly improved the water quality of local waterways as well increased compliance by operators with respect to environmental legislation. The program is considered industry best practice and to date been implemented by numerous other local government authorities throughout Australia.

Assure Consulting developed in partnership with a social consultant, Australia’s first combined Health and Social Impact Assessment of a regional development plan titled “Health and Social Impact Assessment of the South East Queensland Regional Plan 2005-2025. This required an extensive and detailed literature review that became a published document titled: “Health Wellbeing and the Urban Environment – A summary of Known Relationships”. This document is the lead research paper in the emerging field of Health Impact Assessment within Australia. Coordination amongst 18 South East Queensland Councils and State Government Departments was required to deliver this project. This project was recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia for an award due its innovation and success.
